This camera is the smallest and lightest DSLR camera in canon designed to deliver outstanding quality images. The controls are such that it is easy to use for a beginner. This has all the features that you would like to have on rebel series camera. This is the camera for regular use and to give wings to your imagination.
Features
The Rebel SL1 features the same 18MP sensor that is a good sensor capable of providing solid image quality, and it holds up just fine in this compact Rebel. The Canon DIGIC 5 Image Processor enables speedy and fast performance, low noise, high resolution and continuous shooting at 4 frames per second. The camera has wide ISO range of 100-12800 (expandable to 25600) and makes it suitable for shooting in low and bright light conditions.
The camera also houses 3.0″ Clear View II Touchscreen LCD monitor with high dot resolution for viewing the photos and videos in bright light. You can easily adjust the settings, autofocus and use the brightness level required as per the light situations.
The camera is capable of shooting continuous videos with autofocus in full HD quality. The options provided are amazing as you can shoot in multiple frames and high-quality resolution. The 9 point autofocus system and Hybrid CMOS AF System are outstanding when you are shooting through viewfinder providing fast and accurate focus.
The scene modes for the camera are helpful in shooting the best shot under different shooting conditions. The scene intelligent auto system is for shooting at night. The creative filters can be used to get the performance from the camera by adding an extra touch to the photos.
The other features of the camera are JPEG resizing, lens correction aberration, optional GPS compatibility, photo book setup etc.
Pros
The camera is not heavy and hence it is very easy to carry it around. You can shoot with one hand. It is very simple to use and feels like you are shooting with a Smartphone. The menu features on the camera explain what each mode does which is perfect for a beginner. It is easy to make quick adjustments and the creative modes are fun. Autofocus is accurate and with certain tweaking of settings, you can get crisp, detailed images with very good dynamic range and natural colors. The video capability is nice and impressive.

Cons
The noise reduction feature is not very good. The screen cannot flip so it becomes difficult to take photos at different angles. The burst rate is slow when you compare it to a DSLR. Not 4 K Video camera.
Our Take
A very good camera in the budget with almost all the features of a DSLR. Highly recommended for travelers as the camera is small and light weighted.
